This Was the 1st Teaching Staff Day at the St. Pölten UAS

For more than ten years now, the “Day of Teaching and Learning” at the St. Pölten UAS has been a key event for exchange on the topic of innovative teaching and learning. Building on this tradition, we developed a new format that is tailored specifically to our internal teaching staff members and Academic Directors: the “Teaching Staff Day”, successfully held for the first time on 22 October 2024.

On the Teaching Staff Day, the focus is on the exchange and further development of teaching/learning methods at the St. Pölten UAS. Accordingly, all full-time and part-time lecturers and Academic Directors are invited to the event. In addition to presentations by experts, the main goal was to encourage all participants to practically reflect on their own teaching.

Here we have compiled slides and further materials on the individual programme points*:

•    Keynote 1 | Curriculum: Das Verborgene im Hochschulstudium. A research-based presentation by Angelika Thielsch (University of Göttingen) on implicit expectations and motives of teachers and students in German.

•    Keynote 2 | Neues und Bewährtes aus der Lehr-Lernforschung. Lisa David (St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences) addresses examples of important results from teaching/learning research in German.
